Doing it yourself instillation

Installing vinyl graphics is a simple follow-the-steps process.  Although it takes very little time, it is not something to rush. With a little concentration and patience you can easily install quality your new Auto Sign.

 

Prepare Surface 

Thoroughly clean area before applying your vinyl sign. Follow the instructions

below for specific material cleaning procedures. With a window cleaner.

Remove any dried matter such as tape or glue with a single edge razor blade.

Painted Metals and Base Metals

Painted Metals and Base Metals surfaces may be cleaned with a solvent such as Naphtha, Xylol or Lacquer Thinner. Dry the surface with a lint free cloth before the solvent evaporates. Freshly painted surfaces should be dry for at least 72 hours prior to application of the vinyl graphics

Interior Painted Surfaces

Surfaces may be cleaned with any household cleaner such as Fantastic or 409. Wipe area clean and dry with a lint free cloth before applying the vinyl graphics. Freshly painted surfaces should be dry for at least 72 hours prior to application of the vinyl graphics.

Temperature Requirements

The temperature of the room and the temperature of the intended surface should be between 45 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit for best results. Very high humidity (above 90 percent) may effect the application process

Materials Needed

Small cutting knife or razor blade. (an Exacto Knife is ideal for the job)

A Spray bottle filled with a mixture of dish soap and water.

The mixture ratio is; 3 drops of soap to 1 pint of water

Plastic Squeegee

Dry Towel

1" Roll of Masking Tape

 

 

 When you receive your sign it will have 3 layers

  • 1. Backing, This layer lays between your window and the sign and is

  •  

  • the first to be removed after you center your sign for placement

2. Your Vinyl Sign is Between the layers. We have  weeded  the excess vinyl from your sign.

 

3.Top tack tape. This is the final piece you remove when applying sign.

 After Cleaning the surface COMPLETELY place your new AutoSign with the tacking tape on the vehicle window.

Now you need to measure. Do 2 measurements on the top so the sign is even.

Then measure each side to be sure you are centered.

 

Using small tabs of masking tape, tack your auto sign to the glass .

This is to insure proper placement before the liner is removed.

Place the tape in the center of the sign. You will be doing one side at a time.

 

Now take a flat surface Plastic Squeegee and apply firmly over the right side of your sign.

Then gently pull the tack tope back and you should have the letters stuck to the tap leaving the white

backing paper. remove the white backing paper from right side.

  • Work from left to right. Do not let the entire graphic fall onto the

  • intended surface.  Do it slowly . If lines or creases develop, lift and re-place the graphic.

  • Now take your squeegee and go over the tack tape to apply letters to the glass.

  • Then peel the tack tape from right to left slowly to be sure all letters are on the window.

  • Remove tack tape from right side.

  • Great Job.. Well so far.. Now do the same for the left side of the AutoSign.

  • Remove the remainder of the tack tape and your sign is done.

  • Again great Job!!!
